Is long hair better

For context, ever since I was a kid, I've had extremely short hair with a fade. Then I started getting low tapers and slightly longer on the top. But now I have quite long hair bc I haven't been assed to get a haircut and now I've been getting more compliments for my hair. Idk if Goatis is right about short hair being for slaves or not.

Also bc I'm 5 ft 6 should I have shorter hair so the proportion of hair to height doesnt look bad. If I have long hair will I look even shorter?
