is microneedling overhyped for non-acne scarred skin?

does microneedling have a noticeable effect for non-acne scarred skin?

my skin issues are
1. dull skin/lack of glow
2. uneven skin tone

it seems to me that microneedling is only worth it if you have acne scars, which i dont have
