Is mse/palate expander worth it?

Ok so im 19 with an already U shaped palate it resembles this (image attached)

but ive heard from people that no matter what at any decently young age you should get this as it increases bizygomatic width therefore increasing facial asthetics but ive also seen cases where a palate expander / mse fucks up someones whole face (on right) so im just wondering are botched ones rare or am i risking my whole face for some prominant zygomats?

idk if i would do it, at least if youre the girl in the picture, then your palate wouldnt really be the biggest issue
