Something can be scientifically unproven but still have a logical purpose. Living without any inherent meaning is terrifying for most people. If religion gives someone a reason to get up, be a good person, and feel like their life matters, then the purpose it serves isnt nonsense at all.

your looking for logic in something thatts entirely based on faith. People dont follow a religion because they think its a proven fact, they follow it because they choose to have faith in it. That faith is what gives them purpose, and theres nothing dumb about wanting that. It is what it is.

I see your point, except that there is something dumb about it. Faith is a low iq concept anyway. Not one smart philosopher (excluding theological philosophers) or historically smart person has ever been religious

religion is not cope, even if it was if you really follow christian rules youll see much progress in other aspects of life, but I do believe in God and I have my own experiences that made me really believe in God
