It can help you identify potential flaws. But I’ve seen gl people with average or bad side profile and the opposite

So it’s mostly cope. 3/4 view and front matter more

Good side = good front in most of the cases. Shit side = recessed, no forward growth, supras 404 and so on.

Midface projection and under eye support and whatnot are very important, but the actual length of the maxilla in profile is very overrated (i.e. cavill’s profile is better than barrett’s)

I'd say a good side is a big halo not necessarily a failo if it isn't good

I'd say the front view accounts for about 60-65% of overall appearance importance, with the side view making up the remaining 40-35%. Having an good front profile is slightly more crucial, but a good side profile still matters since people often see you from the side. However, as long as you have distinct dimorphic characteristics from the side and maintain certain favorable proportions, you're good.

His gonial angle might seem good to you but it’s actually his biggest flaw here (mandibular plane is too straight)

but yeah aside from that and bf% his profile is good

it matters but it doesn't mean the face cant be perceived as gL with a bad profile.
I'm recessed and big-nosed and I've already received a lot of iois and I've been approached by girls.
but that doesn't change the fact that I would certainly improve fixing my jaw with a bimax(if well done) or genio

side profile is an indicator of facial projectedness. it is not good or bad on its own. if you have a good skull development you will have a good profile. bad skull growth is noticeable from all angles, profile is useful for pinpointing more exactly the cause

bad maxilla has a systemtic effect. leads to retruded jaw, no chin, and no zygos
