Swimming makes it possible to achieve that famous "V-shaped" physique. It broadens the shoulders and back, slims the waist, promotes excellent posture, and significantly improves longevity. Studies show that swimmers live longer than athletes in other sports, making swimming one of the three most beneficial activities for human health; it allows the heart and lungs to work in tandem without putting strain on the joints. Research has revealed that swimmers have a 21% lower risk of death from all causes and a 41% lower risk of death from heart disease compared to the general population—rates that are superior to those associated with soccer or running. Swimmers' physiques remind me of the bodies of Greek gods sculpted in ancient Greece.
