Is the navy bodyfat measuring legit?

the one where you measure your waist and neck and you get you bf results, i got 17.5% with it. I mean the us navy uses it so it must be somehow legit?

it probably is generally accurate. Though I got -1% so it's not perfect, I'm 10% ish
