Is there such a thing as melanin tax?

Imagine a high PSL guy (say Gandy / Cavill), would they suffer from any sort of melanin tax? Assuming all other factors are same and at sub-chad level.

I ask this both in terms of dating prospects as well as general life success and statusmaxxing.

I don't think I agree man. Doesn't line up with my experience. Even a fully melanized David Gandy would suffer immensely because of that.

Black people are different. They don't seem to pay any of the melanin tax, particularly in this day and age. That's why I didn't include any mention of being black in my OP.

Thinking again, I think both have similar aesthetics, especially since Cavill is squintfrauding in this pic. IRL his eye area is slightly larger.

The dark guy will never have as much success in dating / life as Cavill. Cavill is already statusmaxxed whereas he is not.
