Is this a good infraorbital-malar implant design?

My current standard infraorbital rim implants are having exposure problems, and I would like to replace them and augment more of the cheeks with custom infraorbital malar implants. I'll let everyone know how it will go. So far, these are the initial renderings based on my ct scan. Is this a good design or nah? They will be made with a relatively new material called PEKK, which is similar to PEEK material. The cost will be a little over $20k.

Did you have any discomfort with your current Implants? How high is the chance of complications with Infraorbital Implants?

Generally no discomfort, other than some occasional numbness if I laugh too hard because the infraorbital nerve runs against the implant and may be the cause of that lack of feeling. I wouldn’t say the risk is 0 but it’s placed in an area that is hard to get right.

By hard to get right you mean that the chance of losing facial harmony and or looking uncanny afterwards is high? Or Health wise? I‘m thinking about Infra Implants in combination with Bimax

There's definitely a risk of looking uncanny if too much projection is done. Keeping a gradual, and not a steep, transition from the eyes to the infraorbital region can be tough to get right. I don't think health-wise it's a big risk if they don't do it too close to the eyes, which would increase the risk for blindness.

How would the implant cause blindness? The optic nerve is behind the eye

Here is a more detailed version of the measurements in millimeters. It does seem like quite a bit of projection.

the design on these look pretty solid. not too much projection and the step off isn’t crazy. is there a reason you’re going with PEKK over PEEK?

Thanks. PEKK is a bit cheaper than PEEK, like 15k less. PEKK is apparently a smaller company than PEEK, but the material’s properties are essentially the same. It’s similar to how supor is an alternative to the more expensive medpor.

PEEK is unreasonably expensive so 15k less is pretty solid. it seems like PEKK also offers better osteointegration too which is a plus

Im suprised you are paying so much for these implants
