If you are nearing nw3 you should skip finasteride and start dutasteride at 0.5mg along with oral minoxidil 2.5mg or 5mg

i would try with as low dose as possible to avoid side effects

start with 0.25mg mon wed fri
if no sides then 0.25mg every 2nd day
if still no sides go up to 0.5mg mon wed fri
and so on

anything more than 1mg 3-4x a week is a waste of time and risk

u can just get a pill cuter from amazon and spöit it 50/50 or in 4 0.25 pieces

but i read its better to get 5mg pieces and cut them small

Yes, I did that 4 months ago and experience 0 sides. You have to take 1mg because the manufacturer doesn't recommend to cut the pill, unlike with minoxidil which you can cut it. I take 1mg fin + 5mg oral minox per day without any side effects, as it should be.

Take it at night so in the extremely rare case you experience sides, they happen while you sleep so you don't notice them (and they vanish at 2 months of continuous use).
But don't worry, you won't get sides.
