I’m not so sure- I remember researching this topic a while back, and the average was clearly lower, somewhere around 46-49 cm, which seems much more plausible

I’m unsure about that. According to a more recent (2007) study, young Swedish men have a biacromial breadth of around 39-42 cm, which is quite similar to most studies on Asians, despite their generally shorter stature.

I don’t think Asians have significantly smaller frames relative to their height, or even in absolute terms.
