Is this type of facial hair bad or good?

It would be better to grow it out all over instead of that trim you have. And it would be better to keep it at a light stubble, it looks kind of long here and that can hide your jaw which looks like it is pretty good

Should I change it to just a bit on the chin and upper lip? Maybe a more updated look and will still conceal philtrum and chin to a degree?

My jaw is pretty good I’m lean and have been chewing for years. However I have a long philtrum and a mildly recessed chin.

if you have a long upper lip (long philtrum) you should grow like a short mexican type of moustace

Yeah that’s what I thought too. Also I am treated a bit lower class which lends to that idea.

From what I’ve seen in life looking high status> looking beautiful.
And odd facial hair / head hair and clothing can lower ones perceived status.
