Yes too much, look at the guide thread I posted on gymmaxxing, I’d train large muscle groups like chest and back 2x a week, 3 maximum. Delts, especially side and rear delts, are smaller muscles that need less recovery time. If you’re not doing too much volume I could justify training them 4x weekly for a few weeks at the end of a training block, but not all the time.chest back delta 4x a week for 1 hour each time too much or will it lead to optimal growth?
does 3x provide a benefit over 2x?Yes too much, look at the guide thread I posted on gymmaxxing, I’d train large muscle groups like chest and back 2x a week, 3 maximum. If you spread your volume out properly, you can increase your frequency to 3x but a lot of things need to happen first. You should have trained 2x until progress slows down, then go to 3x adding 2-4 sets per week, with at least 3-4 sets for chest & back on days you train them. You also need to be in a large calorie surplus and sleeping 8-9 hours per night or you wont recover properly.does 3x provide a benefit over 2x?
