Is Your Side Profile Aesthetic? The Profile Cross

Attractive side profiles have something in common: they pass the crisscross test.



To administer the crisscross test on a facial profile, draw 3 lines:

• Draw a line from the forehead right above of the brow bone (frontal sinus) to the front of the chin.
• Draw a line from the eye’s pupil to the midpoint of the lips.
• Draw a line from the nasion to the mouth’s corner.

If a side profile is aesthetic, the resulting drawing meets these requirements:

• An X shape is clearly seen and is (approximately) symmetrical.
• The curve at the back of the nose’s ala meets or is ahead of the X’s cross.
• The nasion point and the mid-lips point touch or nearly touch the forehead-to-chin line.
• The philtrum meets or is ahead of the forehead-to-chin line.

If your side profile has problems, you don’t meet all the requirements in the crisscross test:

I got the same issue, orthodontics would probably fix is you have bad overjet but for me its just race
