Im a Catholic and am watching these debates to see if this topic comes up, im a fairly new Catholic having been mostly a theist or agnostic my whole life while being raised in a Catholic family.

The only reason people invented religion and believe in god is because they didn’t know shit about the world and were scared about death.

If religion would have never existed and in today’s world Someone would come up and claim to be a prophet of a god he would be sent to the mental asylum immediately

This is comparing science which is a broad field to religion which is narrower in scope in comparison, I believe God created the universe and humans. Evolution is a theory but even if it was true then that still means God created humans

I think there was a natural power which created all of this by coincidence. Like a huge chemical or atomic reaction.
Sounds more realistic to me than a magic god who did all this and then left the earth to destroy itself.

That’s different because God is a being who resides outside of our universe, the laws of our universe don’t apply to him, if you believe the universe was created from the Big Bang, aka something from nothing, to me this sounds like a very scientific way to describe Gods power and creativity to create the universe, scientists do not know what created the Big Bang, or the matter of our universe, but clearly something can’t come from nothing, so this proves the existence of a creator.

Also because God resides outside our universe, the concept of space time doesn’t apply to him, meaning he is eternal and created time, space, heaven and earth

Because I'm not schizophrenic nor do I need any coping mechanism to get through life. Nothing at all indicates the existence of any gods or the supernatural. I don't see the point in believing this simply because we exist. Show me clear undeniable evidence and I'll change my mind.
