The devil himself believes in Christ. Where do you think he's gonna end up? You're no follower of Jesus if you're doing all the things you just mentioned.

That’s retarded as fuck, sure he isn’t living a Christian lifestyle, but according to the Bible he will still make it to heaven aslong as he believes Jesus Christ died for his sins.

That’s the difference between the devil and him, the devil doesn’t believe that the only way to salvation is through the atonement of Christ on the cross. The devil believes Jesus is a real person, but he also is held to a different standard because he was one of God’s angels before.

You probably think you need to muh repent of your sins to be saved, which is fundamentally wrong, and if you disagree with me I can prove why it’s incorrect.

the ones i've seen typically had families that were generationally involved with religion (religious all the way down the genetic line). i think that church populations from my experience overall are better adjusted mentally/emotionally as well as mildly/somewhat more attractive than typical populations for various reasons but yeah

Most christians like him try to play god and tell people what is and isn't acceptable in their cult Religion

Religious? It's what Jesus himself warned of. It's no devine revelation given only to a select few who God favors. It's in the bible. How am I speaking as if I got any sort od special relationship with God when I'm simply pointing to something that's there for everyone to see?

Galatians 5:19-21
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

So you try to cherrypick one thing he's said Huh, typical of religious people but ignoring the fact that Jesus himself said to forgive people

"Jesus enjoins us to pray for our enemies and forgive one another from the heart; He tells us to forgive seventy times seven times" (Mt. 18: 21-22)

Yet religious people have the nerve to persecute anyone who breaks the rules therefore breaking the rules themselves yet you'll claim "I'll go to heaven because I follow this one rule" while clearing ignoring everything else

Yeah? What does repent mean?
To turn from your willful sins. To obey what Jesus commanded us to do and be led by the holy Spirit. Jesus never gave any suggestions.

Idolatry is one of many examples of a sin. What does that mean? Worshiping a statue of a false god could be idolatry.

Yeah, so why does God repent so many times in the old testament if repenting means to turn from sins?

Exodus 32:14

Jonah 3:10

1 Samuel 15:35

Genesis 6:6

Amos 7:3

Amos 7:6

Jeremiah 26:19

1 Chronicles 21:15

2 Samuel 24:16

KJV

The Hebrew word "תשובה" (Teshuvah) that you're referring to literally means to turn around in the opposite direction. It's just a verb. It can be applied to a decision you've made, as with God, or it can be applied to the way you're living. Turn around.

Turn around in the opposite direction of the sinful way you are living. That's what it means in the bible where it warns you to "repent" of your sins. Turn from sin to righteousness.

Yeah, so when Jesus tells us to repent, he never says to repent of our sins, just to repent, you’re simply adding an invisible “of your sins” to it.

What if Jesus meant by repenting to turn from unbelief to belief.

That’d make a whole lot more sense, especially considering verses like:

Ephesians 2:8-9
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Acts 16:31
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

If salvation is a FREE gift, then why must we repent of our sins to RECEIVE it?

That no longer makes it a free gift because you must do something in order to receive it.

Don’t get me wrong I believe we should walk away from our sinful lifestyles but to believe only those who “repent of their sins” will go to heaven is stupid, that’s work-based salvation not faith-based salvation.

You literally just made this up, the word repent is used and you make up your own interpretation of what you want to believe it means to fill your works-based salvation narrative.

The Bible preaches faith alone, you are preaching works. You are not saved if you believe in this.

The old testament passages you were referring to are written in Hebrew. The new testament passages are written in Greek. Look up and translate from the original scriptures if you believe I'm making it up. It means to literally turn around in the opposite direction.

Context is key. He was speaking to his desciples. To people who already believed. As was Paul in his epistles.

Matthew 7:21-23
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Why would Jesus warn that only they that "doeth" the will of God will enter heaven? He's warning that not everyond who calls him "Lord" will enter. Doing God's will is faith. You gotta understand that. These people already believed but he's telling them to depart from him.

It's only Jesus's blood, what he did on the cross, that allows us to be made righteous in the eyes of God. Only that and nothing else. Repentence is an act of faith. True faith (or belief) will lead to repentance. And without belief that leads to repentance you aren't worthy of Christ. Because Jesus saud to repent.

Be very careful.

2 Timothy 4:3
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

People want to hear that all you got to do is believe. You can keep fornicating and doing whatever you like so long as you believe and say the say the sinner's prayer. This is what Timothy was warning about. These two men are teachers fir those with itching ears.

have you ever considered old people used to look like chads and stacys but you know got older?

Omg the Christians here are arguing.

Saying Lord, Lord is different from the will of the Father.

The will of the Father is to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept him as your savior, saying Jesus, Jesus, or Lord, Lord is not the same as accepting Christ as your savior.

Furthermore, the rest of the verse literally talks about people who believe in a similar doctrine as you.

"Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?"

"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

These people were never saved, to begin with, because they believed more in their good works to save them rather than the atonement of Christ.

Believing you must repent of your sins (perform good works) to be SAVED is a poisonous doctrine that will lead many into hell and takes away from what Jesus did for us. If we need to repent of our sins in order to be saved it shows that the work on the cross wasn't enough and that we now need to perform good works in order to retain it.

It's either ALL or NOTHING. Did the Blood on the Cross cover 100% or not? or just 70% and we must repent of our sins to fill the 30% gap.

I used to believe in the repent of your sins doctrine for a while because it's preached by almost every modern preacher, which I found very ironic when you stated this verse.

2 Timothy 4:3
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

It's nice hearing the repent of your sins doctrine because it appeals to your ego, you feel better than others, you can play God and tell people who is and who isn't saved, based on how much they've "repented" and haven't, and ultimately you feel special. But in reality, we're all filthy sinners deserving of hell and the only thing that can save us is Jesus, not ourselves, not our own works.

But, if Christianity is supposed to be saved by faith through grace, then why must we "repent of our sins" in order to receive salvation?

I by no means condone living a horrible lifestyle whilst claiming to be Christian, we should all put forth our duties to be God's soldiers and win souls and make a world a better place as if we continue to live in our sinful lifestyles we will be punished on this earth BADLY, and in heaven too.

But to be saved, it's extremely simple, you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and there is NOTHING else you can do but throw all your faith unto him to be saved, no works, no repentance of sins, no nothing can do anything to save you, he bore every sin, and died for EVERYONE so that we may be saved.

Heaven and hell are both subjective experiences of infinity. To someone who wants it, infinity will feel like peace but to someone who doesn't want it, it will be like being dissolved in excruciating fire. People must be saved from the pain of their own sins and ego not gods punishment. This is the orthodox teaching at least.
