The entire religion just seems to be against love. Relationships are haram, you have to get married pretty much instantly. You're pretty much just in a transactional contract. Even in heaven it just talks about how many wives you get. Wow every man gets 2 wives! The entire religion seems like it's made for lust :feelsthink:

You never feel any purity coming from the people wearing hijabs, it feels as if their supressing their degerate nature from birth

Relationships are indeed haram but it doesn’t stop people from getting into them anyway. The only ones who abstain from them are genuinely practicing, but most are not like that.

So it just seems like the people crave for love while the religion is against it :feelsthink:. Or depends usually people do it just from horniness but ofc there's plenty of exceptions

im a muslim
and i am in love

"When a man marries, he has fulfilled half of his religion, so let him fear Allah regarding the remaining half."

"The best of you are those who are best to their wives"

i agree that it's difficult to find the true one for you, but there are some potential ways that make it sustainable

i will admit that i'm in a haram relationship

not because i despise god and am an immoral person

rather i understand how women are in 2026 and you have to sometimes make a sacrifice for everlasting wealth :ABDULpls:

The Islamic texts about love just seem superficial when you look at other stuff. Also see how even you go against the rules

The problem with your assertions is that you assume “love” can only exist in pre-marital situations, which is not the case.

It CAN exist but doesn't seem very likely at all. Basically just pairing 2 people based on family and looks :feelsthink:

well you would have to present evidence to me

+ this is subjective so we're just gonna disagree until one of us changes our mind
Also see how even you go against the rules
yes but you would understand why
we don't live in an IDEAL era for relationships
it's not that the rules are hard to follow
it's just that we follow our desires a lot more than we used to

It depends on the situation, but arranged marriages aren’t really common anymore, even in Islamic countries. A question couples often hear is: “Was it arranged or a love marriage?” People seem to have a totally different view on what life in Islamic countries is like. Many people in those countries are totally westernized and even secular.

I mean Islam allows sex slaves, curses wives for not sleeping with husbands, has strict requirements for marriages..

Yeah so they don't have actual Islamic marriages

this is just typical bad faith stuff man.. come on

1. the rulings about captives were tied to THAT specific historical context. the majority of scholars who are smarter than me and you universally agree that these rules can't be enforced and is therefore impermissible

2. you didn't even read the hadith correctly lmao.

3. yeah.. and so does many other cultures/religions/nations worldwide? you don't have a point here

Islamic marriages (depending on school of thought) require a woman and her male guardian’s approval. There are some more requirements for it to be considered Islamic. But love marriages are still considered Islamic as long they get married at some point.

How would the hadiths not be applied to modern day? Like where are they getting that from?

And before you answer just tell me was Aisha 6? If you deny it then I don't want to waste time

because we don't believe every hadith is applied in exactly the same way in every time and place...
the hadiths about a specific war / battle for example, can't be universally applied to every holy war that could hypothetically happen

this is common sense man
And before you answer just tell me was Aisha 6? If you deny it then I don't want to waste time
yeah majority view is that she was 6
some scholars argue older based off some historical evidence but it's most widely accepted as 6

If there are countless hadiths about sex slaves and it was accepted back then, why would it suddenly change? If there's a similar war now, would there be any difference?

those rulings existed within a legal system where slavery already existed worldwide.nowadays, we are bound by treaties and international law that have abolished slavery, and islam teaches that treaties should be honored by all

it's a fair question and it's probably one of the most asked within ethics

But it's not like he tried to stop it at all. It wasn't like he was sad that it was happening but really had no realistic way to stop it. He himself had sex slaves, permitted his men to have sex slaves and saw nothing bad about owning them :trepidation:

yes, because you're looking at it from the modern context

if you grew up as a baby in IS controlled syria, you would grow up with the assumption that the westerners are the enemies and killing innocent people is justified

you're forgetting that he was a man too and he honoured his servants

you should look more into this stuff because you are smart, you're just slightly misinformed about the context of these things and how you view it from your perspective

It's just a completely different world view. Muslims believe it's morally okay as the prophet permitted it, I think it's horrible as I don't follow any specific moral system. I fully understand the situation but I just believe it's wrong. I probably would not be able to follow Islam even if I somehow got evidence of it being true
