ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) FULL GUIDE

i have dermatitis micodosed and i feel like it helped, i dont have acne but i need to fix skin texture/pores should i keep running isotret or hop on taz?
use taz isotretinoin isnt the best for dermatitis although depending on what type of dermatitis it is it may make it worse but taz is best for refintement of texture

ISOTRETINOIN

What is isotretinoin?

Isotretinoin is a powerful prescription only vitamin a derived retinoid. It is used to combat severe acne. This is the most overkill treatment for acne and guaranteed to clear your acne. Please do not use tretinoin or taz or any other cope this is systemic and superior.

How it works?

Isotretinoin works by shrinking the sebaceous glands, unclogging pores, reducing inflammation, and lowering bacteria that causes acne. It is most effective in cystic acne, papules, and blackheads, it is less effective in reduction of jawline acne and milder acne. Its effects last even after stopping and works cumulatively so dose is finalized early on but split across days. However effects are not permanent further side effects will be addressed.

Dosage and timing:

Dosage of isotretinoin is calculated by your body weight 120-150mg per kg of body weight for those outside of Europe 54-68 mg per lb of body weight. It does not matter when it is taken as the product works by accumulation not day to day difference as long as you are consistent over days you are fine. I prefer the long approach to not risk side effects however as long as you dont go over 80mg a day you are fine 10mg is too low start at 20mg its a waste of time. State of dose does matter in isotretinoin although older studies had preferred isotretinoin to be taken with a meal that includes fat newer studies show higher absorption via a fasted state. see below:

Where to purchase?

Isotretinoin is on the cheaper side and is widely available through many sources. I had purchased mine via indiamart paid £120 for the whole supply. It is unlikely that you will find counterfeit isotretinoin this way, however, still is possible make sure they are trusted and have certificates, and obviously packaging has not been tampered with.

Alternatives:

For all you topical nerds that are scared of a pill, other forms of retinoids are available however they are not systemic such as tretinoin, differin and Tazarotene. However all of these just cause flaking and texture refinement does nothing for more severe acne.

Side effects!! (read first grey)

Side effects include dryness, retinoid flare, dermatitis, nosebleeds, bleeding/damaged lips, dry eyes, sun sensitivity, sensitivity to alcohol, liver strain, avoid any lasers or acids on face, dull skin from lack of sebum. Note that skincare must be accounted for; Do not overwash, use a good moisturizer and spf everyday

Now how do we fix these:

Sun sensitivty: spf 50 daily even indoors

nosebleeds: isotonic saline spray or naseptin

damaged lips: reduce dose and/or humectant based lip balm

dry eyes: artificial tears especially if you use contacts

dermatitis: lower dose or b5 balm or steroid or reduce exposure to heat/sun

Liver strain: just dont drink shouldnt be anyways

try not to get pregnant as well i guess??

Post isotretinoin:

Now you can fix that dull skin that isotretinoin caused. azelaic acid can be introduced treat it as a topical retinoid or just jump straight to co2 laser works amazing here to clear any scars, pih, or post inflammation in the face (bit overkill yes but worth it). However it is recommended a few months wait after stopping as isotretinoin does affect healing so could make it worse although newer studies say it is irrelevant. It takes about 3-6 months off isotretinoin to see your skin alive again annoying but at least no acne is present.

TL;DR

Isotretinoin works wonders no need to cope with diet and cutting sugar.
just follow simple things tired of seeing people fucking up the basics in this. Can give more personalized advice just drop a reply ive tried tretinoin, azelaic, co2, differin, and isotretinoin.
can i use beta carotene while taking accutane?

True, I've ordered tretinoin and that will be my starting point for my facial acne alongside normal skincare. If that doesn't work out, I'll switch to accutane

Because it changes skin texture but tretinoin is more targeted
do i need to take isotret from accutane brand only or can I use isotret of some other brand too. I have open pores, very little to almost no blackheads and whiteheads. But my skin produces excess sebum its oily most of the time, so I got open pores and I have got acne scars(no active acne) all well and have bacne. So two questions. Can I take isotret of some other brand as well. And should I hop on isotret for the conditions I have and if yes then at what dose will all my conditions be cured with ease

Doesn’t matter the brand of it just needs the active, id say start at 20mg if you don’t see change after a month increase the dosage
