Is there any difference in taking isotretinoin for a longer period but at lower doses? For example, let's suppose the cumulative dose I want is 11,000mg, which would be about 20mg per day for 1.5 years. Is there any difference if I take, for example, 10mg per day, which would also be 11,000mg but over 3 years?

cumulative dose is what matters

lower for longer is optimal

I intend to take accutane forever

I took 60mg for 8 months and experienced only dry lips as a side effect

I don't have acne, but I have very oily skin and some blackheads, so I would use a low dose. Also, there's the financial aspect; I live in Brazil, where isotretinoin and dermatologist appointments are very expensive and quite elitist.
