Most of my western friends unanimously agreed that humanity going to space was "pointless." Its depressing how decadent and uninspired western society has become. This type of mentality is whats rotting the west out from the inside. Societies that don't strive for anything die.

When I mean space exploration I mean building solar collectors and habitats, mining asteroids and increasing humanities productivity by many orders of magnitude. Obviously this isn't something that can be done fast but it is something that people should strive towards. For the 21st century focusing on earth orbit and the moon is all that we need.

Its the lack of vision and gratitude that infuriates me about this generation.
