Thank you for your nice words and your words of encouragement! The first lesson I was a lot more nervous but the second lesson I had already improved. I think the fault laid in that I was asking students if they wanted me to do it in English or in Dutch and some of them wanted it in Dutch and some of them wanted it in English. So I was alternating between Dutch and English constantly which made it horrible, IMO. The second lesson I decided to just do it in English and it went a lot smoother. Next time I'll do it in English first and then in Dutch (since my subject is English).

But I would never say "This is easy, come on, guys..." I think that's really condescending and I don't do condescending (normally speaking).

Thanks for the nice words! Yeah, I wouldn't force any students do to anything. Last week, though, I accidentally messed up because I was in a completely different class and one of the students near me was sitting alone, but so was another student. I asked the student next to me (not directly next to me) if they maybe wanted to work with the other student who was alone, thinking they were just shy and felt a bit bad because I thought they wouldn't be learning this way, but they shook their head as to say no. At this point, the main teacher joined us and due to the pressure they ended up going to work with the other student. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut. xD They probably hate me now, brootal.

That’s so cool! So you can read the Cyrillic alphabet as well then, right? The other day I was in the train and this couple sat next to me. I wasn’t entirely sure what language they were speaking, but it seemed to be Eastern European. After googling, I discovered they were most likely speaking Romanian. Which makes sense because to me it sounded like a mixture of Italian and Russian, as an outsider. And I discovered Romanian is considered a Romance language, just like Italian. Personally, I consider to be fluent in a language if I can express myself in any way I want to and use a more sophisticated speech if I wish to. I can only do that with English and Dutch, but I wouldn’t be able to do that with Urdu. I can strike up a conversation with anyone, but I wouldn’t be able to use sophisticated speech, so I only consider it to be at a conversational level. I also understand Punjabi, but I cannot speak it. Some sounds are impossible to replicate as a non-native Punjabi speaker. I feel like that’s similar to Hungarian, where non-natives cannot pronounce certain sounds.
