No it's not. Humans evolved in small tribes where everyone knew each other. Hell, up into the early 20th century most people ended up marrying their neighbor or someone they grew up with.

Cold approach definitely doesn't feel natural. Even when I get do get IOIs from women I don't know who I find attractive, I always come to the realization that there's nothing I can say that wouldn't come off as creepy or unnatural. Even parachuting out of a plane would probably feel more natural to most than cold approach.
