When growth plates are closing, how does it typically correlate with height increases

FOR OPTIONS:
- Decent increase before it ends (grows 2 inches in 3 months then closes)
- Gradual slowing down (1 inch in 3 months, then 1 inch in 4, then closed)
- Or is it random
