Lol, I don't have a hometown. I left USA in 2011 and was forced to return in 2021. Had to stay back there for five years while my wife acquired citizenship. She got it in 3 years actually but we spend an extra two years there acquiring docs fir Russia's TRP. A few months before we were set to go though the decree was made that anyone wanting to apply for PR would have to searve one year on the front. Thought about it and decided I couldn't risk it with my wife and kid. If I was young and single yes. But not 39 with a wife who hasn't worked for the last 8 years and a five year old boy.

I spent most of my adult life outside if USA and that's how I intend to spend the rest of it too. I cannot stand the culture in US. Check out what Viktor Bout had to say about America when he got free. It's all true. Not propaganda.

We're expats not tourists. We'll probably move on to Georgia and Albania within the next year but after that we'll return to China where we'll spend the rest of our lives.

I was born in Virginia and moved to Howell Michigan after I turned 10. I graduated high school there, but I have no home town. I'm proud to be an American cannot be my home. I cannot live there.

But hey you're 39
You said that you only get PR but not citizenship of russia
Only citizens of russia need to serve in the army, but we have urgent(mainland russia) and contract(war) service, but again only people from 18 to 30 years old can serve in the army

so if you only have pr in russia you don't have to die in ukraine

I'm pretty sure that if you want to apply for PR, upgrading from TRP to PR, you have to show military papers (serve one year.)

The original plan was for eventual Russian citizenship.

our state is big bureaucratic giant, people in militay commissariat(enlistment office) gonna write infinite amounts of explanatories and will probably get fired if someone without russian citizenship will get into military

i think there is no general difference between PR and russian citizenship

the only difference is you can vote for president with russian citizenship

you still can get pension and free medical insurance with russian PR

but as far as i know your PR can get annulated if you stay for more than 6 months outside of russua

Sorry to tell you but it seems I know much more about your country than you as far as that goes. There's loads of foreigners serving in the Russian Army. And that's actually been the case for long before the current situation with Ukraine. It's mostly people from former Soviet states, and Africans believe it or not, but just about anybody can join.

I've known about this for a long time an heavily considered it in 2013 when I thought I had gotten bored of living in China.
