firstly, i am not a fucking surgeon so dont take everything i say seriously, i am just a hobby cuck like the rest of you. My info comes from reasoning what surgeons shared and what people on this forum has shared which is not that much info to be fair.
heads up, Look whats written in the pics and in the thread.
But yea firstly, most people dont even know what dehisinence is, but its basically just the muscle sitting above the implant as the pic below shows.
this one is not dehisence tho, this is just implant reveal from having to much flare on the implant so it pierces thru the skin like a arrow.
as we can see on the design its too pointy at the gonion, he fell for the flared gonion meme. Which is only valid on real bone when the muscle sits over it.
this was the before btw
In the pic below it explains anatomically the reasons for dehisinence or implant reveal. I would call it the fundamental problem with jaw angle implant.
In the ideal world it would work like in the pic where you can detach the muscle and place it so it covers the implant in a natural way. But news alert some people masseter muscle naturally sits higher then the gonions too.
But afteralll the jaw implant is still a valid procedure but should be done conservatively. and with the correct design, and this is your surgeons task obv, but this is some ground basics that is shown in the pics below(this is not a deep dive on to how design implants):
overall jaw implant is a valid procedure if one wants a more pronounced jawline. but it wont lower your ramus with 1 cm and look good obv if not lucky i guess.
And it will def not make your gonions sharp like brad pits or any other guy with those naturally as that is the muscle not the bone.
Btw the photos are taken from other threads, i didnt save reference so if someone finds the orginal threads, you can link below
