Would a ramus osteotomy provide similar results to getting jaw implants?

Implants don't look very natural and I worry that it would look for obvious (espeically when you start to age).

Eppley is probably the exception RE implants but I'm still not sold.

I honestly think jaw angle implants looks fine, it's usually wrapraround that look obvious

No they do not “always look better”:lul: This is a retarded oversimplification and it is heavily dependent on the OPs situation. Implants are great at recreating the bone in the ramus/gonion area.
It is the position, not mass.

Nigga I joined january 4 2020…

implants are not always inferior to osteotomies. it depends on the individual.
Implants add onto the poorly developed bone. Osteotomies fixes the poorly developed bone. Its not hard, sweetie.

If you're not recessed just lack bone mass implants are fine, the issue is people that need a bimax with rotation get implants and end up looking like trash.

yeah this something i want to avoid, espeically if i'm spending however much on bimax.

We are talking about solely aesthetic outcome… I don’t see the relevance here. Yes getting a wraparound implant on a recessed jaw is fucking stupid. Getting jaw angle implants to widen and lengthen the ramus oftentimes will lead to an aesthetically superior outcome than an osteotomy.
Widening the bigonial width under the BSSO cut; ramus widening = genioglossus muscle stretching.

Ramus lengthening osteotomy mogs implants “lengthening the ramus”

The Ramus correlates with craniofacial development. Only osteotomies solve craniofacial dystrophy.

but your face, not mine

Vertical Ramus Osteotomy. Rather mandibular ramus distraction osteogenesis if you can find a surgeon that will do it.

Regardless, my point is bone mogs implants to hell and back.

Implants can look good, its just people are autistic and get huge fucking implants from a low inhib doctor like eppley. Modest implants are usually effective.

The best implant results look natrual, you shouldnt be able to tell they have had an implant.

I think this is only true if it's too big.

IMO if you are going to get any implant on your bone, you should go for a custom version. That is what I am going to be investigating this coming year.

you're getting one?

I'm thinking about getting custom mandibular implants. I know that they have the potential to look bad, though, so I am going to do a lot of research before making the decision. I definitely will not being getting 10mm on each side like some kind of insane person.

ramus widening/osteotomy is a myth, you won't find a single before/after proof
it was a myth created by dr.Eppley to steal money from rich narrow jawed indians
