JFL 90% of popular fiction is bluepill bullshit

It seems like almost every popular piece if fiction always seems to pander to the bluepill belief that hard work pays off some how. I'm talking about the endless sea of stories where some worthless douche (poor peasant son, the geek at school etc) becomes a hero somehow and then by the end marries the princess or whatever bullshit.

Even in settings where the main character is considered important from the very beginning (Harry Potter for instance) he is still assigned low status at the beginning, even to a point of being treated like a total loser by the other characters. All the while the higher status characters like Malfoy (who naturally, is a blonde yellow haired Aryan) act like 2Dimensional villians.

Jfl are there even any popular fictions that depict the world realistically? By realistically I mean the most powerful people are the good looking doucebags with no real morals and all the while the uglies and lower status people are just shat upon and nobody cares.

Its much better to have a story where the character rises from a low, unassuming beginning and does something great and difficult, instead of having a story where a good looking guy treats everyone like shit and gets ladies to suck him off as he lives his mundane existence
