If you have SFS (short face syndrome), jutting your jaw downwards is honestly a legit lifesaver
Before I started jutting, this is what I looked like:
As you can tell, not the best looking, probably around a LTN, mainly due to the small lower third which lacks angularity
But when I jut my jaw, this is what I look like:
Clearly a lot better looking, closer to that high mtn - htn range
It isn't just the increased lower third height that the jutting will bring, but the skin will also be stretched out, which creates the appearance of a leaner and more angular face.
NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO GET THESE RESULTS:
1. PUSH YOUR JAW DOWNWARDS (NOT FORWARDS), BUT MAINTAIN LIP SEAL (I personally push mine down about two finger lengths, I wouldn't go much further than this simply because it would probably make you look recessed + would be very uncomfortable. If your SFS is less severe, you can jut less if you want to get similar results).
2. MEW TO TIGHTEN HYOID SKIN
3 (OPTIONAL). Slightly smirk for mouth width (Don't do it too much, you want this to look like it is your normal mouth seal. I do this to maintain mouth width so that it doesn't become too narrow).
4. HOLD, ADJUST AS NECESSARY TO REMAIN NATURAL LOOKING
This is something you can manage to hold almost 24/7. The first couple of weeks will probably be uncomfortable, but you’ll get used to it. If it starts to feel unbearable, just look down (you don’t want to get caught doing this lol) and rest your jaw for a moment before going back to jutting. For those with TMJ concerns, I’ve been doing this for over a year without problems. When talking or eating, tilting your head slightly downward can make it less noticeable that you’re jutting your jaw.
