So I have subhuman FWHR and midface ratio. I am planning surgery to correct significant bimaxilary retrussion and I am now studying what I can do to help with long midface.
From a theoretical perspective I know that maxilla can be brought upwards, something commonly performed in gummy smile cases. That got me thinking, how about performing it on anyone, and then correcting teeth show via philtrum.
Did a search and found that this is rarely performed and sort of, frontier stuff. But it's possible and not absurd. I found this paper from SK surgeons reporting on the cases: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28005730/
I will never be on ideal ratios but just 3mms which is average for that study, will help me a lot and I will be quite happy.
What do you guys think?
