When I was 12, I was brushing my teeth when my mom casually told me I had monolids.
I asked what that meant, and she pointed out how my eyelids had no crease compared to the rest of the family (plot twist: she had surgery to get double lids).
Then she added: “Double eyelids make people better looking.”
…so yeah, bped by my own mom at age 12.
Anyway—here’s what actually worked for me:
Sometimes it’s literally just the fat in your lids blocking definition. Losing weight overall can help slim that down.
Most people know Bimatoprost for lash growth, but one of its side effects is orbital fat loss.
Normally that’s bad, but if you’ve got monolids, that extra fat above the eyes might actually work against you. So in this case—it cancels out.
How I applied it:
The idea: if the bottom portion of the lid loses fat faster than the top, you may end up with a visible crease (aka a double lid).
If this works, it’s easily a +0.5 PSL boost.
Monolids are a huge issue for Asians—eyes are the most important feature, especially for ricecels.

- Pull the eyelid up slightly.
- Use the brush to apply directly at the lash base.
- (Optional) Add Vaseline to the upper lid.
The idea: if the bottom portion of the lid loses fat faster than the top, you may end up with a visible crease (aka a double lid).
3. Other Stuff I Did (for transparency)
- Roided and bonesmashed my brow ridge.
The swelling from bonesmashing didn’t really impact my eyelids, though. - Maybe the roids affected muscle tissue around the eyes? Not sure.
Final Thoughts
If this works, it’s easily a +0.5 PSL boost.
