I’m a darkeyecel, and I’ve been looking for methods to brighten my eyes.
I’ve been searching through BotB, but the only thread about eye color changing is this one by @Alexanderr https://looksmax.org/threads/stroma-eye-color-change-explained-mega-thread.228789/ it’s pretty good with covering the sciences behind eye color, but I’ll also explain the necessary information in this thread.
The main issue I have with that BotB thread is that it only covers options that I can’t afford
The only option I thought I had was wearing color contacts, but I’ve done some research and there’s another method.
This method could be the holy grail for darkeyecels: PDS - Pigment Dispersion Syndrome
PDS isn’t new, but it’s been cast aside as “not researched” or “high risk, no reward” so there’s no BotB threads on it, and very little information about it on here.
TLDR: New FREE method for lightening eyes (PDS) with very little info about it on org, is talked about in this thread.
Why Are Irises Dark?
Dark Irises are caused by one thing: Melanin
Found in skin, hair, and most importantly: Irises
There are different types, but the most relevant type of melanin to this thread is Eumelanin
Eumelanin:
- Two types: black eumelanin and brown eumelanin, most people have varying amounts of both
- Black hair means more black eumelanin, brown hair means more brown eumelanin
- Blonde hair is caused by no black eumelanin and a small amount of brown eumelanin
- This explains why blonde hair often comes with blue eyes: low eumelanin
Another type is Pheomelanin, which isn’t as important, but still feels a little relevant and is worth mentioning. Pheomelanin is common in green and hazel eyes. Just another obstacle to get to your blue eyes
Importance of Melanin
Eye color isn’t a direct gene. You don’t just get the “Blue eye gene” or “green eye gene” from your parents. The gene only determines eumelanin and pheomelanin levels. Meaning that if you change the eumelanin or pheomelanin levels you store, your eyes will be lighter.
Brown eyes and black eyes have the potential to be green or blue, no matter what.
The goal of getting brighter irises is to strip the melanin from the Iris pigment epithelium
Iris pigment epithelium
It’s the colored part of the iris. Contains the melanin and chromatophores that make up the eye color.

This is what Ehren used to brighten his eyes, and it obviously worked miracles for him.

RISK
PDS can cause the anterior hyaloid, which normally adheres firmly to the posterior lens capsule by the hyaloideocapsular ligament of Weiger, can detach following blunt trauma.

In most cases (about 85%), PVD happens without causing serious, permanent vision loss, but it creates noticeable, annoying symptoms that often subside after a few months.
Sudden Increase in Floaters: You may see "squiggles," "dots," or a "ring" (known as a Weiss ring) floating in your vision.
Flashes of Light: You might see lightning-like streaks, usually in your peripheral (side) vision, caused by the vitreous tugging on the retina.

The mechanisms behind the formation of PDS are due to the constant rubbing and friction between pigment iris epithelium and lens structures during pupil movements, which tend to occur in the presence of reverse pupillary block and posterior bowing of the iris

So by pressing hard on your iris area and slightly moving your finger around, you can create friction between the PIE and lens structures.
This hasn’t been studied or practiced very well, but Ehren claimed that 5 minutes 2-3 times every day will be enough to efficiently render results. I am going to start PDS, and will document the results and effects
Sungazing is Cope (extra bit)
Sun exposure doesn’t significantly change melanin content, so it won’t cause a noticeable shift in your base eye color.
Do Brown Eyes Get Lighter in the Sun?
Sunlight won’t lighten your brown eyes. You might notice flecks of gold or hazel that seem more prominent in bright light, but this is an illusion. Different lighting conditions can change how your eyes appear, but the actual pigment remains the same.

Why Are Irises Dark?
Dark Irises are caused by one thing: Melanin

- Black hair means more black eumelanin, brown hair means more brown eumelanin

How often did u do it and for how many minsI tried ths for now 5months fr
I know many ppl Clown Abt ths method but my Eyes def got lighter
U choose Bad pics tho and could have made the Guide more „interesting“
I started with 10sec then lookin away for 30sec after a week or so i got to 20sec and lookin away for also like 30sec and now i jst look in the sun till ma Vision gets like blury i then look away for 30sec and repeat thatHow often did u do it and for how many mins

This method could be the holy grail for darkeyecels: PDS - Pigment Dispersion Syndrome

Why Are Irises Dark?
Dark Irises are caused by one thing: Melanin
Found in skin, hair, and most importantly: Irises
There are different types, but the most relevant type of melanin to this thread is Eumelanin
Eumelanin:
- Two types: black eumelanin and brown eumelanin, most people have varying amounts of both
- Black hair means more black eumelanin, brown hair means more brown eumelanin
- Blonde hair is caused by no black eumelanin and a small amount of brown eumelanin
- This explains why blonde hair often comes with blue eyes: low eumelanin
Another type is Pheomelanin, which isn’t as important, but still feels a little relevant and is worth mentioning. Pheomelanin is common in green and hazel eyes. Just another obstacle to get to your blue eyes
Importance of Melanin

Sun exposure doesn’t significantly change melanin content, so it won’t cause a noticeable shift in your base eye color.

Sunlight won’t lighten your brown eyes. You might notice flecks of gold or hazel that seem more prominent in bright light, but this is an illusion. Different lighting conditions can change how your eyes appear, but the actual pigment remains the same.

I’ve been searching through BotB, but the only thread about eye color changing is this one by @Alexanderr https://looksmax.org/threads/stroma-eye-color-change-explained-mega-thread.228789/ it’s pretty good with covering the sciences behind eye color, but I’ll also explain the necessary information in this thread.
The main issue I have with that BotB thread is that it only covers options that I can’t afford
The only option I thought I had was wearing color contacts, but I’ve done some research and there’s another method.
This method could be the holy grail for darkeyecels: PDS - Pigment Dispersion Syndrome
PDS isn’t new, but it’s been cast aside as “not researched” or “high risk, no reward” so there’s no BotB threads on it, and very little information about it on here.
TLDR: New FREE method for lightening eyes (PDS) with very little info about it on org, is talked about in this thread.
Why Are Irises Dark?
Dark Irises are caused by one thing: Melanin
Found in skin, hair, and most importantly: Irises
There are different types, but the most relevant type of melanin to this thread is Eumelanin
Eumelanin:
- Two types: black eumelanin and brown eumelanin, most people have varying amounts of both
- Black hair means more black eumelanin, brown hair means more brown eumelanin
- Blonde hair is caused by no black eumelanin and a small amount of brown eumelanin
- This explains why blonde hair often comes with blue eyes: low eumelanin
Another type is Pheomelanin, which isn’t as important, but still feels a little relevant and is worth mentioning. Pheomelanin is common in green and hazel eyes. Just another obstacle to get to your blue eyes
Importance of Melanin
Eye color isn’t a direct gene. You don’t just get the “Blue eye gene” or “green eye gene” from your parents. The gene only determines eumelanin and pheomelanin levels. Meaning that if you change the eumelanin or pheomelanin levels you store, your eyes will be lighter.
Brown eyes and black eyes have the potential to be green or blue, no matter what.
The goal of getting brighter irises is to strip the melanin from the Iris pigment epithelium
Iris pigment epithelium
It’s the colored part of the iris. Contains the melanin and chromatophores that make up the eye color.

PDS is defined as a condition characterized by the release of melanin granules from the iris pigment epithelium due to friction between the iris and zonular lenticular structures, potentially leading to trabecular dysfunction and increased ocular pressure, which can result in pigmentary glaucoma.
This is what Ehren used to brighten his eyes, and it obviously worked miracles for him.

PDS is a well-studied syndrome, so obviously its affects are well studied too.
RISK
PDS can cause the anterior hyaloid, which normally adheres firmly to the posterior lens capsule by the hyaloideocapsular ligament of Weiger, can detach following blunt trauma.

This causes PVD.
Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD), involves the vitreous gel separating from its attachments at the front of the eye (posterior lens capsule) and back of the eye (retina). While PVD is common, especially in people over 50, it can lead to serious, vision-threatening complications if the vitreous pulls too hard on the retina.
In most cases (about 85%), PVD happens without causing serious, permanent vision loss, but it creates noticeable, annoying symptoms that often subside after a few months.
Sudden Increase in Floaters: You may see "squiggles," "dots," or a "ring" (known as a Weiss ring) floating in your vision.
Flashes of Light: You might see lightning-like streaks, usually in your peripheral (side) vision, caused by the vitreous tugging on the retina.

If you notice either of these symptoms after making use of PDS over a long time, consult a doctor. Now it’s clear that since this is the main side effect, PDS is actually pretty safe.
HOW TO INDUCE PDS
The mechanisms behind the formation of PDS are due to the constant rubbing and friction between pigment iris epithelium and lens structures during pupil movements, which tend to occur in the presence of reverse pupillary block and posterior bowing of the iris

So by pressing hard on your iris area and slightly moving your finger around, you can create friction between the PIE and lens structures.
This hasn’t been studied or practiced very well, but Ehren claimed that 5 minutes 2-3 times every day will be enough to efficiently render results. I am going to start PDS, and will document the results and effects
Sungazing is Cope (extra bit)
Sun exposure doesn’t significantly change melanin content, so it won’t cause a noticeable shift in your base eye color.
Do Brown Eyes Get Lighter in the Sun?
Sunlight won’t lighten your brown eyes. You might notice flecks of gold or hazel that seem more prominent in bright light, but this is an illusion. Different lighting conditions can change how your eyes appear, but the actual pigment remains the same.

lmao this guy bruI started with 10sec then lookin away for 30sec after a week or so i got to 20sec and lookin away for also like 30sec and now i jst look in the sun till ma Vision gets like blury i then look away for 30sec and repeat that
I do it through out the fay and daily as long as there is some sun showin
