I'd like to ask some questions regarding shaving facial hair. If you have other questions, feel free to ask them. I believe that there can't be proper skinmaxxing without knowing how to properly shave.
First of all, I've been shaving all my life with a cartridge razor and it only now came to me that it is fucking up my skin. There's like 5 blades sliding across my skin at the same time and it shouldn't be this way. I just got a safety razor, which only uses one blade and it should cause little to no irritation. I'll try shaving with it tomorrow and I'll report in here on how it went (and if I ended up cutting myself).
Second, what am I supposed to use to shave? Shaving soap, gel, or cream? Since my skin is sensitive, everything I've read online says that I need to use a shaving gel. I am currently using the Gillette Shaving Gel for Sensitive Skin and I'm not sure how I feel about it. When I have it on my face I feel my face burning and it's the same sensation as when you're eating really minty gum. Is that normal?
Third, should I use a shaving brush? All shaving veterans seem to use it and recommend using one, but I feel like it will get into my pores, cause irritation/inflammation and acne in the end.
For the record, I'm shaving every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
