We know how awful the effects of finasteride are in terms of your hormonal profile, and the fact that the effects tend to last even long after stopping makes it even worse. We know minoxidil is a collagen killer that also darkens you under eye area because of the effect on the blood vessels, and causes extreme fatique/brain fog. Remember it was originally intended to be used to lower blood pressure.

So the idea of 1.5 mm dermarolling and diluted peppermint oil used in conjunction just once every 2 weeks seems very appealing. Studies support the hair growth results and the self reports on various forums tend to be overwhelmingly good. The only problem is peppermint oil might have an impact on testosterone/estrogen for the worse. The question is if it's to a significant degree and if the topical exposure rather than oral, as well as having it in such a small quantity since it's diluted so much and only doing it twice a month, makes it negligible.

What are your guys' thoughts? Obviously by dermarolling you allow the peppermint oil to more easily get into the bloodstream. But it's also such a small amount and not being applied very often. And I'm not sure if there are studies on the non-oral exposure resulting in significant antiandrogenic effects. Would applying peppermint oil a week after dermarolling be optimal so the cuts aren't open for it to get into the bloodstream? Would that greatly reduce the hair regrowth in doing so?

Finasteride and minoxoidl have worked just fine for me, and I think dermaneedling really accelerated the regrowth I've seen in the past 3 months since I started. Sounds like you have no experience with any of the drugs you're talking about and just took some fear mongering post as truth.

If you have hairloss, you have to take an anti-androgen. Using other hairloss solutions without first using an anti-androgen like fin is just slapping a band aid on the problem, pure cope.

What about this stack: microneedling+alfatradiol+Fluridil + ket shampoo

should be probaly enough if you are not agressivly balding

Don't derma roll. You will cut up and slice up your skin and damage it long term, scars will begin to form and in general it's not good. What you should be doing is derma needling instead.

You're correct. That's what I meant in terms of the specific device. I just used the more widely applied term.

Wouldn't those 2 drugs be far more dangerous in terms of side effects than just applying peppermint oil every other week?

Fluridil cant ascess the bloodstream
and alfadriol absorbition should also be really low

i have a better feeling of topicals then fin

You’ll be fine OP, peppermint oil is extremely safe and won’t hurt T/E. But peppermint oil inhibits PGE2, so use sparingly and not in weeks you microneedle.

Would healing = inhibition of androgen receptors

Micro needling= artificial wounds

So micro needling on its own is fine.

Check out @Bewusst threads on methylation and hair loss... interesting stuff.

If you have Androgenic Alopecia you need a 5AR inhibitor or anti androgen. Topical Fin+RU should do. Just do it it OP ( if you have hair loss).

Mind linking me the thread? I have very slight temple recession although it's more so a maturing hairline since my hairline used to be rounded at the edges. Mine is more of a preventative measure. Would peppermint oil on non microneedling weeks still be effective?

How can you tell if it’s a maturing hairline? My dad has thick hair but it’s around NW3. I’ve always had thick curly hair and the temples were always really thin. But lately they are thinning out more. I’ll probably end up NW1. But how do I know if it is androgenic alopecia or a maturing hairline?

I ordered a Dr Pen A6 and i’m gonna buy castor oil...

What’s your opinion on
microneedling+alfatradiol+Fluridil + ket shampoo
As a preventive treatment/mild hairloss
