I'm starting this thread to talk about the idea of getting limb lengthening surgery at my current height of 5'7" (170 cm) as a 28M by the time of the surgery.
A bit of background: I'm originally from Brazil, where being 5'7" is considered just below average for young men (about 5'8"). I didn't have any dating issues until I moved to Europe, where the average height is around 5'9" to 5'10". Even with height insoles, I still feel short because most women here seem to prefer guys who are at least 6 feet tall.
Money isn’t a problem for me; I'm looking into getting the surgery done at the Paley Institute but am open to other clinics that might be safer and more affordable. I’m hoping to gain around 8 cm in femur length and 6 cm in tibia length, which would get me to about 6 feet. After that, I could use insoles to bump it up to 6'2" if I still feel like I need it.
Just looking for some opinions on the risks involved with this surgery for that overall lengthening, especially if someone here has already undergone it. Also, I think I have a pretty decent facial structure: almond-shaped eyes, a positive canthal tilt, and good eyebrows. Right now, I’d rate myself around a 6/10, mainly due to some extra facial fat, but I think I could look even better if I lost a bit of weight. Only after losing weight I'll effectively decide if I'm going to do it or not.
