when they raise the upper lip. is ur mouth like permanently open? i see it a lot in some before and after ls but not in others

if not permenant does the lower lip raise to compensate? how would it even do that i can only raise my lower lip by pulling an aspire face

if the lower lip raises could this make ur chin look taller?

how much bigger will it make my upper lip? my lips are decent thickness rn. i don’t want my upper lip looking bimbo or bigger compared to the other

does it drastically change lip shape? i like the shape of my lips, i just want my philtrum to be smaller (by 4mm)

Now that I think more about it, I would say it depends on the amount of shortening you get, in your case I don't think the shape would change drastically since you only want to shorten your philtrum 4mm, but it also depends on your lip shape prior to the surgery.

A subnasal lip lift would only affect the central portion of the upper lip.

A subnasal upper lip lift, also known as a bullhorn lip lift because of the shape of the skin excision, is done at the base of the nose and lifts the central lip area known as the cupid’s bow primarily. It does not enhance the vertical height of the vermilion across the whole upper lip contrary to the statements of some surgeons. Thus one should not expect the very sides of the lip or the mouth corners to be changed from any lifting done from around the base of the nose

For this reason, if you shorten your philtrum too much the increase of the vermillion height in the central portion of the upper lip might make your mouth corners look disproportionate, in that case you would need to get lateral vermillion advancements to change the height of the lateral vermillion borders of the upper lip.

If your mouth corners are disproportionate to begin with you can get a subnasal lip lift combined with lateral vermillion advancements to fix it.
