Same bro. I used to not believe criticism and compliments either. If a person gives u a compliment with no context, out of nowhere then 99% chance they saw and liked what he complimented u abt. If someone said it while being in a group then it's 50/50, you never know. You can pay attention to other peoples reactions to see if the compliment was real, they could be doing that for being noticed. i personally would never compliment a dude walking by or my classmates with a new haircut without mutiality with my group. Its awkward. I earlier said 99%, because people can give u compliments to make u like them or for personal goals, just observe and you'll know.

If you are complimented twice abt something from different people not in a joking manner of tone, then 99.9% its real. Well its also abt if ur social circle gives out compliments (school, street, anywhere)
