Can either go with a local surgeon covered by insurance and pay around 10k out of pocket, or could spend years saving for someone like Dr. Raffaini for likely a better result. Im in university and work part time so not a lot of cash flow.

Here is the only result from the local surgeon i found, djs + genio as well, obv some of these are kinda frauded but still is an insane result imo:

Ah yea this is the guy in Ottawa right? What's the surgeon's name again?

IMO there are good surgeons in Canada if you find them, take advantage of the massive fucking discount the healthcare system gives you rather than get charged for a slightly better result from one of the italians that ends up costing double or triple that

Taylor P. Mcguire, he's closely related to one of my friends as well so I could likely contact him outside of work beforehand. OHIP covers a fuckton of the surgery I just have to pay for any braces and scans/consultations out of pocket

How do you think I can go about getting the consultation for the surgery itself? I dont think i have any sleep apnea or airway problems (unless struggling to breathe through my nose counts), but then again neither did the guy from those images, he just asked for a jaw surgery consultation from his ortho.

Yea just do that. You could even just ask for a genio consult, that's what I did. Then when the actual surgeon sees you he will go over possible Jaw Surgery too

I don't know any eastern Canadian jaw surgeons other than this guy tbh, I only know the ones in BC which you couldn't go to anyways unfortunately. I say go with him, being able to go right back home asap after the surgery is an underrated advantage

Should go fine tho, good luck. Worst case scenario you can just go to a different guy

I've seen this dude's results and I'm only now realizing this dude's frontal results were frauded.

"Before" photo is dark lighting, "After" photo is better lighting with his head tilted more upwards to accentuate his lower third.

Brutal how much incels will misrepresent their results.

Be careful looking up to results like this, you will find yourself disappointed with your own results if you read too much into it. Esp w Bimax, unless you're a downgraft candidate or extremely recessed it will mostly only show in your side profile.

I remember him posting himself on the jaw surgery Subreddit for like the sixth time and finally putting his head in a position somewhat resembling the Frankfort Plane and people were in the comments wondering if he relapsed :lul::lul:

But the surgeon did a good job regardless, he still had an orthognathic profile after. But I agree people shouldn't expect anteface, most "antefaces" are just people with orthognathic profiles tilting their head up anyways

Depends if you know what you're doing or not. If you don't you'll end up like 90% of the not-so-aesthetic results on the jaw surgery reddit. Would be better off if you wage slaved for a known competent jaw surgeon at that point.

I'd like to think I know what I'm doing as I've been wanting this surgery for years but haven't really fully commited to taking action till now. Also I feel like the major flaw in the surgery isn't in the surgery itself but just the infraorbitals and upper maxxila regions still being recessed, and I think if I do end up getting a similar result I could simply get infra implants or fat grafting to help balance it out.

At the end of the day for so cheap I feel like even if I do go through with it and dont get great aesthetic results, it'll cost me only 10k out of the 60-80k ill need for a good surgeon and I could just get another surgery.

He was dogmaxxed as well but it's better than having a recessed side I suppose.

What does your side look like?

I just found what you were talking about

Kinda crazy how bad he must've frauded so now idk, maybe it is worth to just save for Raffaini (first is pre-op, second is 1 year post)

Yea, tho it's still a fine result that made him no longer recessed, it is definitely kind of just a normal bimax result that got the job done

His angle and head tilt frauding were actually insane tho, especially because he ended up making like 6 posts of himself over months. Dude was farming up karma on reddit like crazy

Like Zemult said before, most bimax results in general are heavily frauded. Which is probably half of why bimax is so insanely overhyped

I remember seeing his Reddit profile, his actually result is more underwhelming than I realized too

The swelling has just gone down. He looks great actually. Very harmonious. Good surgeon. You definitely need a surgery as you have a class 2 skeletal discrepancy.

What reason are you putting on the ortho referral form? I thought they didn't let you consult with the surgeon without a valid reason. How long is the waiting time for the consult? I had to travel to that are for that specific doctor for wisdom teeth removal.

Idk yet but the person on reddit said he asked for a consult due to just recession

You’re downgrown. Need a proper surgeon with an eye for beauty. Not a functional one.

Also for context, im an engineering undergrad student that works 1-2 days on weekends for minimum wage, saving up possibly 30k for a decent surgeon or 80k for someone like raffaini would be like 5 years away minimum, which is why im considering going with this surgery for cheap as its covered mostly by insurance, then getting another djs in the future with a proper jaw surgeon, just so that my early 20s arent as miserable as they are currently

I would consult the local surgeon first and see if he can come up with a good plan.

80k usd is a robbery for bimax, but I guess USAcels are used to getting fucked over. Good day to be Canadian boyooo

no I meant like raffaini would be 50-60k US dollars, which translates to 75-85k canadian dollars

Yeah I’m aware, might’ve worded it a bit shitty my bad. USA surgeon are however known for costing up to 100k for a simple bimax. Come to Europe habibi

my local surgeon would cost similar, possibly 100k, but we have free healthcare here so the government pays for surgery costs done in public hospitals, therefore I would only need to pay for things like consultations, scans, etc
