You hit the nail on the head, not only is making up a fictional detrimental to your actual reality, since you might think you are some hot shot while you have accomplished exactly nothing in your life. This way of thinking is also extremely destructive to your social life, since you'll become arrogant and you will not be able to enjoy simpler interactions with simpler people.I have no problem with the pursuit of looks improvement, but this community is characterized by mental illness. The main problem is hypervigilance. Your not rationally applying your ideology, your being emotional, when you ruminate about your superficial position relative to other people. Virtually everyone I've seen here does that as well. Leave looksmaxxing at home. It's so cringe, and insufferable. Everyone can see how weak you are if you think like that. It will make you so fragile, and you won't get any bitches anyway.
When your in public, is your brain constantly comparing? if so break that habit, change your focus every time you do that. If we all did this, then the looksmaxxing community wouldn't be clowns for everyone else to spit on.
I agree. It definitely turns into a hollow way to satisfy neediness. I feel like people have been unfair to these looksmaxxers in denying the reality of looks entirely, but I feel like if you approach the issue with respect for their struggling, maybe they might be more receptive. I think people are magnifying their own hypervigilance by consuming this culture. I think if looksmaxxers could identify how counterproductive that actually is, and avoid it, they could see real improvement in the outcomes they are seeking in the first placeYou hit the nail on the head, not only is making up a fictional detrimental to your actual reality, since you might think you are some hot shot while you have accomplished exactly nothing in your life. Everyone knows that being good looking is an advantage, but life is not a catwalk, who cares if you are not the absolute hottest guy in the world, sure take care of yourself, try to look good. But never look down on someone because it makes you insufferable as a person to others and you'll become incredibly lonely.
I like looksmaxxing as a way to improve yourself within certain boundaries, but indeed when it gets to the whole toxic and selfdestructive ideology around it, it starts to crumble to the ground.I agree.
