Thyroglossal duct cyst
Thyroglossal duct cysts are a birth defect. During embryonic development, the thyroid gland is being formed, beginning at the base of the tongue and moving towards the neck canal, known as the thyroglossal duct. Once the thyroid reaches its final position in the neck, the duct normally disappears. In some individuals, portions of the duct remain behind, leaving small pockets, known as cysts. During a person's life, these cyst pockets can fill with fluids and mucus, enlarging when infected, presenting the thyroglossal cyst

Around 10% of people have it since birth and it might not even be noticeable. Below is my pic at 18

Since 10% of people have it from birth you cannot see much here, but i remember even back then when i tried to mew or when i was talking there was some mass bulging on my neck and it still for sure had an impact for my overall facial aestetic-mostly side profile(sadly i don't have more pictures from that time to show it). I dropped mewing back then bcos it made me look like i have extra fat on my neck.

Overtime it grows, in my case it took 10 years to reach a point, where it turns me into subhuman

But over these 10 years and slow growth i just thought i had some extra fat forming there, when i spoke and felt hard lump there i thought it's normal and just muscle bulging, so it's not like it became looksmin overnight, it slowly been looksminning me my whole life and growing steadily to turn me into subhuman, on early stages where i thought it was fat i even thought about kybella injections which would ruin me

Since 10% likely will have it i recommend to get it fixed and check for it if you have any appearance of double chin or bulging when speaking/mewing or overall problems with side profile, maybe you even injected kybella or stuff

How to diagnose it?

Soft tissue ultrasound is usually enough, before surgery my doc told me to do MRI of soft neck tissue aswell

There's some signs you can see for yourself - bulging neck when mewing/talking/clenching teeth, visually it's really apparent once it's on subhuman stage, but if it's only developing as in first pic noone will tell you for sure

Surgery
"Gold standart" is sistrunk, they cut open your throats and get cyst out, but alongside it they shave hyoid bone(because otherwise removal not possible) so it's huge looksmax even if your didn't reach it's final stage.

It's done under general anaesthesia, 2 day stay in hospital as my surgeon told me.

I'll get it removed in 1 to two weeks, i got my government pay for it, told them i have trouble breathing bcos of it(they have no way to know if it's true or not as my doc told me - even after seeing mri)

Bump i guess. Wonder if anyone after reading this noticed it in themselves? If 100 ppl seen this thread, 10 of them gotta have it or even more since it's looksmaxxing forum

Good thread bro

I know this isn't common knowledge so you'll help some people.

greycels never disappoint :feelsgah::feelsgah:

My cyst is really small, even though it’s close to the chin, so I’m not sure they’d do the procedure on me.

It looks smth like this. Slightly smaller, but much nearer to the chin.

Even they did, they probably wouldn’t need to shave much of the hyoid :feelsbadman:

They always have to shave hyoid otherwise it grows back+visible part of it is like 50% of what is actually there, like in my case 50% of it is deep between muscles

Location and stuff is different on everyone yea like this guy for example, but procedure is same as far as I understood
