The your body produces less insulin your pancreas and liver don't have to work as hard. This allows for a healthier gut health. This also raises insulin sensitivity. With more insulin sensitivity when you do eat sugary or high carb foods your blood sugar does not spike as high. I have a friend how only ate gi foods below 20, most day he would eat fish which has a gi of 0. The he took a week to only eat sugars and carbs for an experiment his insulin sensitivity was insane. His blood sugar only spiked 18 points when he drank something like orange juice. Also more insulin sensitivity means less of a chance of Alzheimer's which is referred to as type 3 diabetes in some medical studies.

Reference on Alzheimer's here:

Also having an uncontrolled insulin level can cause reproductive problems. In women PCOS is often a byproduct of producing to much insulin:

In men it can also cause infertility:

There is a lot more I can go over when it come to the body and insulin.

It’s fine, I understand everything. Very interesting stuff. Does it effect weight or is that just CICO

Insulin has a major role in how you store weight. You may hear that women with PCOS have a much harder time losing weight because of their condition. Some people doubt that but it is true. This is because is a byproduct of insulin resistance. Insulin resistance makes your body hold on to extra weight and people with it have to work twice as hard to lose it. Insulin resistance can also change your hormonal profile. PCOS is an excess of androgens and estrogen in women while in men it lowers testosterone and makes the male body less sensitive to androgens. This is why in America especially men and women are becoming more infertile. According to the CDC more than 100 million Americans have diabetes or pre diabetes.

Here is the article on Americans and diabetes here:

Here is a good study in this subject of insulin and weight:
