yes you can, i use proscar 5mg cut in to 4 pieces

Yes, its all the same. Cut in 4, 1,25 mg daily or every other day if you are on the 5% that need DHT to survive.

try it out for a few months. The most common and most immediate side effect is watery sperm quality. If that is it, I would stick with it. If you develop gyno or ED then drop it.

Don't start taking it expecting sides, don't nocebo yourself.
Sides are rare and go away after you stop. You can also lower the dose, or take any other day of you still are scare. Studies say about 5% have sides, and go away after discontinuation.
Gyno is super rare, and a gynecomastia surgery is much more easy and successful than a hair transplant in the future.
Also, FIN have diminishing returns, meaning if you take 1 mg it blocks about 70% DHT but 0,5 mg blocks 55%. You can manage it yourself.
