I’m 15 years and 7 months old. I found out that I have celiac disease about 3 months ago, and I recently started a strict gluten-free diet. I don’t know if you’re familiar with it, but there’s something called catch-up growth in celiac disease. Basically, when growth is delayed or slowed down because of celiac disease, growth can accelerate again after treatment and the body may partially or completely catch up.
I’m currently 5’4” (162 cm). I know I’m short, but my doctor said that my height was affected by celiac disease. My bone age is 14.5 years. My mother is 5’4” (163 cm) and my father is 5’7” (170 cm).
How much more do you think I could grow with catch-up growth combined with normal puberty growth? I’ve grown 3.5 cm (about 1.4 inches) in the last 3 months.
I honestly don’t know what to do. Even reaching 5’9” (175 cm) would be enough for me. Is there anything I can do to maximize my growth? What would you estimate my final adult height might be? Does anyone have any information or experience with this?pls help me
