I don't know why this nigga goes under the radar in the GOAt conversation. He is 100% a GOAT and in my subjective opinion even better than May weather

Born and brought up in literal slums of Phillipines in extreme poverty to having one of the most dominant runs in boxing history. Floyd dominated yes but he stayed within a narrow range. Pacquiao went from 108 lbs to rag dolling champions at 154 lbs.

Pacquiao also fought everyone, anytime, any styleHe didn't cherry pick or wait for guys to age out like Ffloyd He took risks constantly Morales, Barrera, Márquez multiple times, prime Cotto, prime Thurman at 40.

Pacquio was also way more fun to watch and actually took risks unlike may weather whose entire playing style was not getting hit. Pacquio actually flat lined people. Insane foot work, great stamina and speed and used to punch like someone 2 weight divisions above him

Had they both fought in prime. I'm sure Pacquio would have bodied mayweather tbh

Not a big boxing fan but I don't think he's underrated. At least not in his prime.

As an oldcel I remember when he would beat out Floyd in most "best boxer" polls. Even when he lost to Floyd, the narrative among normies was that Floyd kept "cheating" by running away

In my mind people like ali, Mike Tyson were greater than sport itself they have a greater legacy than anyone in the sport. Both very great boxers yes but more known for what they did outside the ring . They are at the top if you just talk about impact, legacy etc when I mean GOAT i mean GOATs in technical and pure boxing skills and I personally think Lennox Lewis and Usyk are the best Boxers of all time in that sense

Definitely not underrated, he's loved by many especially during the peak there was so much hype around his fights.

I don't think he's "better" than Money Mayweather though. Pacquiao is probably the better pound for pound fighter but Mayweather is a really good businessman and invented the whole defensive style which the entirety of modern boxers right now inherited. He made his own promotions, negotiated deals and created a brand beyond himself, the whole Money Mayweather thing became an act (look at how he was before the De La Hoya fight). That's qualities the boxing world never saw before him.

Yeah. I agree I'm not throwing shade at mayweather. He invented the whole defensive boxing style and indeed a great businessman. I see him more of celebrity than pacquio. The problem with mayweather he fucked a lot of people and only fought them whe they were old or out of form

Pac man came back and beat him twice back to back the same year
That doesnt erase a loss
Pac had dominated rounds 4 & 5 and was up on 2/3 cards. One lucky punch doesn't erase 15 years of work.
Skilled punch not a lucky punch. They also fought 3 times previously and were equal in all the fights. Mayweather annihilated marquez. Pacquiao is probably top 10 all time but not a goat candidate considering he also lost to mayweather
