I think in general it’s ideal to have nice pleasant features, but as far as actual proportions go, you want them to be average/medium.

Like for example, you want to have equal facial thirds, average ipd (not wide or small), average length midface etc

i'm not sure about equal facial thirds but let's say i agree. i'm not sure where exactly the average ipd stands but i'm sure it's somewhere close to the ideal. i disagree with your opinion on midfaces. it should be compact, the ideal being somewhere around what the guy in my sig has. if it looks out of proportion, which I don't doubt it can, then the flaw lies somewhere else. another thing is fwhr, of which i'm very convinced should be above average, assuming the average looks something like this:

that all being said, do you also think the chin should be of average width? it can be included in ratios after all.

I was just speaking in general, I definitely think there are certain features where you can be more lenient, or even that could benefit from being out of the norm (Chin width probably being one like you mentioned)

I personally think overall, the best way of being good looking is standing out without being extreme. As in, great coloring/pheno/features, but not looking like a DOM cartoon

Alright, let's not go to the extremes here then. There's tons of feature of which I'm sure make you look better when they're deviating from the average in the direction which is seen as ideal or dimorphic or whatever. Such as chin width, chin height, cheekbone width or cheekbone prominence in general, browridge prominence, vertical eye width, canthal tilt, under eye support and so on. there's certainly a few features where the ideal is closer to the average, such as nose width or lip width but I think these features are very much outnumbered by the features that I listed before.
I don't think where the average lies has any effect on what people are attracted to. People (or women since we're talking about mene here, first and foremost) don't like narrow noses because most (white) people have them, people like narrow noses because they look nice.
