Im suprised by the kind of tweets I've read online thinking mass deportation is a new thing it is many people don't know this Mass deportations in the United States is not a new phenomenon at all. It goes back to centuries literally since the time U.S was founded there were anti immigrant sentiments In the 1930s, during the Great Depression, the U.S. government initiated the Mexican Repatriation removing 400,000 to 2 million people of Mexican descent including many U.S. citizens due to the same economic fears and xenophobia that people have now because the Mexicans were blamed for under cutting and lowering the wages and were taking jobs from "real Americans." Even though Mexicans and Chinese were the ones that built the railroad in america

Thr Chinese also faced targeted exclusion and deportation in the late 19th and early 20th centu. the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which banned Chinese immigration which led to deportations. The Chinese were accused of participating in sex trade, criminals, thieves and corrupt buisnessmen. In the 1900s many Chinese people in San Francisco, Los Angeles were deported in huge numbers. There was also a Yellow Peril period and the same claims that chinese laborers undercut wages, the

These are the same talking points that people use today. Economic competition, cultural threat, and the need to secure the nations. This isnt something that is new at all. Anti Immigrant sentiments have existed since the very founding of America

Nah I think you think americans don't know about it but that's false. You never grew up in USA and Europe so your POV about reality and history is far different obviously.
They get teached this at school.

It's still interesting how do many immigrants are ignorant on the topic tho. They always act like it's a very new issue and that view the past in rose tinted glasses

Agreed, it was much worse back then than it is now. People in this modern time are acting like mass deportations is mass murder lol.

JFL, the united states also expanded in the 1800s when the united states was influenced by โ€œManifest Destinyโ€ and they forced a lot of Native Americans off their land. And yet people are still suprised that deportations are a thing. Pretty low IQ behavior from anyone shocked at it.

Ethnics need to do something henous, they did 9/11, kill a bunch of whites, if the shooter was an ethnic im sure shit would have really kicked off with deportations and the sort

i have zero problem with deporting illegal immigrants they should come the the US legally and not skip in line

american exceptionalism means always striving to improve and explore new ideas. we've done mass deportations, now we must do mass deletions

Lowkey need to reset to before america was retarded which would be 18th to early mid 19th century.
