Masteron is the brand/trade name most people use for drostanolone. Chemically it is a modified form of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A methyl group is added at the 2 alpha position, which allows the molecule to survive longer in the body and gives it its characteristic profile.
Because it is already a DHT derivative, it cannot aromatize (no conversion to estrogen). It also has a mild anti estrogenic effect at the receptor level. it can compete with estrogen for binding in some tissues.
