How can we use MDMA for “reversing autism” ?
Normally i would say use oxytocin for the pro social effect but recently i’ve been looking into the recreational drugs side of things and found a study on MDMA used for autism
MDMA hits 3 key chemicals at the same time and that’s what makes it different from everything else. serotonin is ur mood stabilizer, it’s what makes u feel calm and safe in ur own skin. dopamine is the reward chemical, it’s what makes experiences actually feel worth having. and oxytocin is the bonding hormone the one that makes u want to be around people. no other compound touches all 3 simultaneously like this
for autistic guys social anxiety is the actual problem. not that they can’t read people or don’t want connection they’re just stuck in a constant low grade threat state whenever they’re around others. Each interaction feels like something bad might happen. oxytocin is literally the antidote to that. it’s why i’ve been talking about oxytocinmaxxing forever, this is just the clinical version of what i’ve said
the harbor-UCLA trial dosed participants at 75-125mg per session. and here’s the part that should make u stop scrolling they only did 2 sessions total, spaced several weeks apart. not a daily pill, not a weekly thing. twice. and they still recorded a 44% drop in social anxiety that held over time. for context the placebo group only got 19%. that gap is massive
the reason this matters beyond the numbers is what it means for dosing logic. SSRIs have u dependent on a pill every single day just to feel baseline normal and half the time they don’t even work. this is 2 sessions and ur brain essentially resets how it responds to social situations. the anxiety doesn’t come back the same way. for a population that’s been completely failed by mainstream pharma that’s not a small thing
