So I went to the orthodontist the other day to check on my incorrect biting and jaw placement. I got a weird underbite in combination with a crossbite which results in my lower jaw being assymetrical to the rest of my face and being really narrow. I think this flaw really nerf my face, i got pretty good features besides this. The orthodontist did ofcourse notice this and said that I needed Invisalign which i agreed on. She also said that she would ask the surgeon if i qualified for a jaw operation (she didn't specify which one) but she said that they try to avoid it at all costs because it creates big changes to the face, takes up to 4-5 years and in addition, is very comprehensive. She said that she doubted that i was going to qualify, about 10% chance. I don't really know what I should think. Should I hope for the surgery or is the invisalign going to fix my bite. I didn't have any jaws problem or an incorrect bite when i was younger at ages under 12-13. After that, my bite began to set incorrectly and it has gotten worse the more time went on (maybe because i only slept on one side). I am 18 and i hope that i can fix this problem in some way and fix my narrow face to a more normal looking one. I hope i can fix this with the invisalign alone altough i dont really think its possible due to the fact that my jaw problem occurs beacsue of a bone and not a dental issue.
