“Our data indicate that oral administration of melatonin to normal human males increases basal GH release and GH responsiveness to GHRH through the same pathways as pyridostigmine.”

“CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that melatonin inhibits testosterone secretion by acting at hypothalamo-pituitary axis. There is a functional relationship and feedback regulation between the pineal gland and the testes.”

Other interesting studies:

“Testosterone is responsible for aggression and social dominance in male hamsters during the breeding season, while melatonin regulates behavior during non-breeding, probably due to the different seasonal secretory patterns of the hormones.”

“These data indicate that an evening melatonin administration decreases the next-day LH secretion in normal adult males without altering testosterone levels or the endogenous nocturnal melatonin secretory pattern. This effect of melatonin is not mediated through the benzodiazepine-GABA receptor complex.”

Do you know how precisely much it increases GH and how much it decreases T? I take 1.5mg every night.

No, but ever since I started taking it my dreams (aka REM part of sleep) went up like crazy. I see dreams all night. That tells me there’s a lot of hormones being released because that happens mostly in the REM part of the sleep.

So I have a choice, either take melatonin and risk lowering my T, or not take it and for sure not raise my GH.

Does it help at all? All I do is wear a sleeping mask when I go to sleep, cost me 5 bucks, pretty effective at blocking light

Yeah dude, melatonin (especially fast release) half an hour before bed will make you fall asleep a lot easier and faster.

10 mg, but I’m 192 pounds and 6’3 so I need more than the average person
