good question, I will try to keep it short.

growing up in an Arab country playing football and training at a local academy, it was hinted and I was even told to my face that Arabs can't make it big in football if some kid would say that he dreams of playing at Liverpool, winning the premier league and winning the champions league, the golden boot, get nominated for the Ballon d'Or he would get mocked and called crazy by kids and adults.
there is this defeatist mentality that you need to be European or Latin to be great at football.
salah and any Arab middle eastern player grow up around the same mentality, he talked about it in his interviews, it even got its own name that roughly translates to "the masters complex".
and even though he grew up in a very poor place with difficult conditions, he fought for his dream and accomplished it unlike me and millions of other Arab kids.

in short, he's living my dream that I gave up on and he deserves it, he's also a role model and motivation for the upcoming generations that I didn't have.
